How an assignment works

  1. Scoping. A short economic diagnostic, then quantified objectives agreed with the shareholders.
  2. Taking up the role. The first decisions, the team, the priorities.
  3. Oversight. A dashboard against the agreed objectives, and regular reporting to the board or the shareholders.
  4. Handover. Preparing or recruiting the successor, a period of overlap, a handover file.
  5. Review. An assessment against the objectives set at the outset.

What is different about our approach

A single point of contact

The person who scopes the assignment is the person who takes the role. No intermediary, no pool of candidates.

An assignment judged on the numbers

The objectives are written down at the start, and the final review is measured against them.

A selective offer

We only accept assignments where our experience of running a business makes a difference.

Frequently asked questions

How does this differ from an interim management provider?

A provider puts forward candidates from its network. Here, the person who assesses the situation is the person who takes the role, and the assignment is framed by quantified objectives.

How are the objectives set?

With you and your shareholders, once scoping is complete: three to five indicators, each with a target value and a deadline, set out in the engagement letter.

What happens at the end of the assignment?

We prepare for what follows: recruiting or preparing a successor, a period of overlap and a handover file. The assignment closes with a review against the objectives.

Is a key role vacant, or exposed?
